Matheo the Dog needs a home

Matheo was surrendered to us during a cruelty investigation. A neighbor told us that he had not been fed or given any water in weeks. When we arrived, we were shocked at how short his tether was. He was chained to a tree and had only about 2 feet of slack on the chain. He could barely move in any direction. He couldn't even reach his dog house. He also had a terribly infected bite wound under his right eye. When we took him off his chain, he jumped on us to give hugs and kisses! This gorgeous boy is a sweetheart. He has a lot of energy and he is strong so he would do best with an active family who can help him work off some of his energy. He is a wonderful dog and he will make a great companion! Matheo's date of birth is 11/12/2013.
